The Optical Twill Rug from Valley Yarns is a gorgeous, high quality rug with a clean and modern design. Weaving a rug is one of the great satisfactions of a weaving life, and weaving a rug designed by Jason Collingwood is the way to go. Jason has designed this beautiful rug in honor of WEBS 40th Anniversary using Collingwood Rug Wool; a yarn produced in collaboration with Valley Yarns. This is truly a project made in heaven.

Equipment: 4-shaft loom, 36″ weaving width (extra width needed to achieve the desired beat); 8-dent reed; 2 ski shuttles
Warp Yarns: Valley Yarns Undyed Wetspun Warp Linens, 8/5 weight (236 yd/8.8 oz. tube) Natural – 316 yds
Weft Yarns: Valley Yarns Collingwood Rug Wool (900 yd/lb)
     Jute – 1,200 yds
     Onyx – 600 yds
Length: 158 ends (includes 6 ends as floating selvedges) 2 yds long
Setts: Warp: 6 epi. (2, skip,1, skip in a 8-dent reed); Weft: Approx. 24 ppi (each pick is three strands of rug wool wound together)
